About Interfaith Dental Center
Interfaith Dental Center is a dental practice on Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it.
Wisdom teeth are removed when they are impacted, repeatedly infected, decayed, or damaging the tooth in front, since they arrive last and often into a jaw with no room left. Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out — one that erupts cleanly and can be kept clean is often left alone.
Gum disease treatment ranges from a deeper professional cleaning for early inflammation through to more involved periodontal care once bone around the teeth has started to be affected. Bleeding gums are usually the earliest sign, and the early stage is reversible with proper cleaning and better daily plaque control.
Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.
Sedation dentistry uses inhaled, oral, or intravenous options to help patients relax through treatment, ranging from nitrous oxide for mild anxiety through to deeper sedation for longer or more involved procedures. It is commonly used for patients who have avoided the dentist for years due to fear.
Oral surgery covers procedures beyond routine treatment — surgical extractions including impacted wisdom teeth, implant placement, and bone grafting among the more common ones. The distinguishing feature is generally that tissue is opened and closed as part of the procedure, rather than treated at the surface. Staff is always kind and courteous to my children. Dental office is clean at all times.
I went here 4 times over the course of several months for cleanings, fillings, imaging, etc. this place is by far the dirtiest doctor's office I have been to. There are splatters of what I can only assume are bodily fluids, on the walls and the light they use to view inside your mouth. They clearly do not wipe down equipment properly between patients. There is no reason I had to be staring at someone else's blood and saliva while getting my teeth examined. Especially when the dentist/hygienist is adjusting said light with the same gloves going into my mouth. During one of my fillings a piece of equipment was dropped on the floor and only wiped with a sanitizer wipe before being put back into my mouth. I am fairly certain that is not proper protocol. I will say the majority of the dentists/hygienists are kind, but they move too fast (I assume they are being over booked based on past scheduling issues) that they don't have patience or time to give the proper attention to patients. Also the receptionist is very rude, snaps at people, and has hung up on me mid sentence. I was consistently waiting 45-60 minutes after my appointment time to be called back and then often having to wait another 15-30 mins in the chair to be seen. They had posted a number in the office to call for complaints, but each time I attempted to call the line was busy and there were no options for leaving a message. So my next best option is this. I understand that there are trolls and haters who will write bad reviews about anything, but please trust that is not what this is. This is the first negative review I have ever left. Please please do not go here if you have any other options.
i go to the one at 1545 atlantic avenue next to the main hospital and i really must say i have nothing bad to say about the dentists. i have gotten a treatment plan sorted out and have been having no issues with the work im getting done. dr. fritz, dr mohammed and dr drago are the best! they are caring and explain everything in detail. i dont feel any pain during the procedures. i do think the reception area can be a bit loud at times, but other than that i am very happy with the clinic!
I didn’t read any reviews on this place but when I was about to get my wisdom tooth extracted my intuition kicked like crazy. The technician didn’t make me feel safe at all and I got really confused when she began numbing my mouth getting ready to pull like…where are the doctors?? I had questions that she couldn’t answer in the way that makes you feel more comfortable, it just gave she didn’t know what she was doing and this made have a panic attack right then and there. Made her stop and told her I couldn’t do it with them. And as I left the lobby, I could a woman screaming for her life in straight agony. The type of screams that sounds like someone’s dying. That just reaffirmed that my intuition was protecting me. Interfaith has the etiquette of a cheap n’ run down fast place. They emphasize getting you in and out as quickly as possible so much that they lack that humanity and empathy needed when dealing with people in vulnerable states
Absolutely the worst experience of my life. Customer service is beneath horrible, the reps in the front specifically the African-American woman, and the Hispanic older woman in the front did not acknowledge me at all when I arrived, and when I asked how long I will be waiting to be seen for my 230 appointment, they did not give me an answer, at 4 PM. I asked how much longer the lady got up and walked away from the desk. And the African-American lady is too busy flirting with UPS mail delivery people instead of answering the phones. On top of that I specifically made an appointment to remove all of my wisdom tooth. They only took out one, and it was a struggle, they ended up, ripping my gums, stitch me up, and I had to fight to get pain medication. On top of only taking out one of my wisdom tooth instead of taking out all of them, the dentist also accidentally cracked my tooth in the back, and Band-Aid it by saying oh you’re going to come back to take it out anyways. When I made it very clear, I did not want to come back to take out anything . On top of that, nobody called to follow up, to make the appointment, or to check on me after the extraction. Knowing that they made a mistake and cracked my tooth they showed no concern on making sure I had a follow up and every single time I call no one answers the phone. I have to call the Bedford location, reach out to the supervisor in order to speak to the front desk. And I know for a fact, they are not that busy, because I will literally witness what they do needs to be shut down !!!!
