About Metropolitan Dental Arts
Metropolitan Dental Arts is a general dentistry practice on Union Avenue in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. The office provides everyday dental care for adults, combining preventive treatment with the restorative work patients need over time.
Preventive dentistry forms the core of the practice. Comprehensive examinations and professional dental cleanings keep teeth and gums healthy, and the office monitors for tooth decay and gum disease so problems are caught early. A thorough cleaning supports both the comfort and the appearance of a healthy smile, and regular visits are the most reliable way to keep small issues from developing into larger ones.
Beyond routine care, the practice handles treatment when a problem arises, including procedures such as wisdom tooth removal. Treatment is explained step by step, with the team checking in along the way, an approach that matters especially for patients who feel anxious about dental visits or have put off care because of a past difficult experience.
The practice also places clear emphasis on affordable dental care, keeping common treatments accessible for patients budgeting for their care, and the office itself is modern and well maintained. New patients establishing care can expect a full examination and cleaning, with any findings discussed clearly before further treatment is planned.
For anyone who has avoided the dentist for a long time, an office that combines a calm setting with clear, patient explanations can make returning to a regular checkup routine considerably easier.
Over time, a consistent relationship with one dental office pays off, since a dentist who knows a patient’s history can track small changes between visits and plan care around the full picture rather than a single appointment.
The Union Avenue location is convenient for residents across Williamsburg and nearby East Williamsburg and Greenpoint, and is served by area subway and bus routes. The office accepts credit cards, debit cards, and contactless payment. Good dental practice. Bad introduction of AI assistant to manage appointments. I've been a client for a while but now the public number they list newly takes you to a virtual AI receptionist, who refuses to transfer you to a real person when it can't address your question. I then found another phone # from my texts with them that did take me to a real person. Why the split? The virtual receptionist was useless -- it said 'there's no availability I can see' when there are appointments available online or when you DO reach a real person... and again, it said it couldn't transfer me, while the front desk was open and I did reach a receptionist by doing the work of calling another phone number. I am not going to go here anymore if this is what they're moving to.
Kind attentive care from Dr. Jake and hygienists
BEWARE: UNETHICAL BUSINESS! If you’re like me, you want to go to establishments where you feel prioritized and cared for. At Metropolitan Dental Arts you will feel like just another insurance claim. They are extremely inflexible with RESCHEDULING, even for extenuating circumstances and charge a whopping $60 fee even with 48 hours notice for an emergency. Like last min canceling, I understand, but a rescheduling fee even with 48 hours notice without any compromise or grace is ridiculous. That does not strike me as a business that operates with grace or with the client in mind. I have been coming here for years and I can no longer say that I will be ever coming here again. Aside from what pushed it over the edge for me, like most other businesses they try to push you on all sorts of extras when you are there so they can charge your insurance more. And I have never seen the same dr in all my years of going. Even if I make an appointment with the same dr, it will be a different one every time. It’s extremely disheartening and sad that they treat clients this way, as the general care inside my mouth that was received was good and it’s hard to find a good dentist. But unfortunately that does not outway the way that they treat people like dollar signs.
In the past years I had several procedures done here including fillings, root canals and crowns. Four of these procedures didn’t hold up, causing one tooth to break and needing an implant, and permanent pain in three teeth after routine fillings, which can now only be resolved with root canals and tens of thousands of dollars. The hygienists and Dr Bokhur are great, but I wouldn’t recommend this office since profit seems to be more important than accountability. Don’t be fooled by the swanky office.
I love it, by far the best Dentist place ever!. Professional, comfortable, and they explain everything and show you on screen in details. I like how you can lay back and watch Netflix while your dentist works in your mouth. I feel like if I’m at home and my dentist is working on me 😊. Definitely Would recommend. Good job!
Dr. Heller runs a professional and welcoming practice and goes above and beyond to ensure my needs are fully met. Dr. Miller was exceptional—skilled, patient, and thorough in explaining everything, which made me feel confident and at ease. Javed was kind, attentive, and supportive throughout my visit. Such an amazing team, I highly recommend Metropolitan Dental Arts. Henny Amado🙂
This office is absolutely outstanding. From the moment I sat down, the office created an atmosphere that was calm, welcoming, and genuinely patient‑centered. Joy is incredibly thorough, gentle, and attentive, explaining each step in a way that made me feel informed and comfortable. What stood out most was her combination of technical skill and compassion — my teeth have never felt cleaner, and I never once felt rushed or overlooked. She balanced professionalism with warmth, and it made the entire experience feel effortless. I left feeling cared for, respected, and confident in my dental health. Truly one of the best experience ive ever had. I even made my next appointment to get that experience again. Thank you Joy you are amazing 👏 🤩
I recently had a wisdom tooth removed at Metropolitan Dental Arts and could not have had a better experience. From consultation to procedure, Dr. Miller was incredibly efficient and made me feel completely at ease in his care. The office is modern, spotless, and very well maintained. The staff is equally impressive, warm, and highly professional. Everyone made me feel comfortable and well-informed throughout the entire visit. Highly recommend Dr. Miller and his team. Truly top-tier care.
I had a cleaning with Michelle today, and it was the best dental cleaning experience I’ve ever had. I have a severe phobia of dental cleanings and hadn’t had one in many years. I shared my concerns with her, and she truly listened and did everything she could to take care of me. She made sure I felt comfortable throughout the entire appointment and took the time to explain each step of the procedure. I felt at ease the whole time and didn’t experience any pain. She has very gentle hands and is incredibly caring. After my cleaning, I met with Dr. Jake, who carefully reviewed my dental health. He clearly addressed my concerns and recommended only the procedures that were truly necessary. I highly recommend this place. The entire team is incredibly caring and professional.
If you’re thinking of becoming a new client here for your dental needs, definitely do it. This is one of the best dental offices I’ve come to and I’m happy to be a consistent client now. They are very professional and thorough when doing the dental exam and cleaning. My hygienist, Joy, was excellent. She made sure I felt comfortable and explained every step of the way. Any concerns about my teeth were discussed and I left with all my questions answered and teeth feeling super clean. Thanks so much to the team at Metropolitan Dental Arts!
