About North Dallas Endodontics

North Dallas Endodontics is a dental practice on North Central Expressway in the North Dallas area of Dallas, Texas. Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent. How many appointments does root canal treatment take?
It can sometimes be completed in one visit, though more complex teeth with several canals may need two. Which applies depends on the tooth involved and whether there is active infection to settle first.
Is a root canal as painful as people say?
The reputation is largely outdated. The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic and is usually no more uncomfortable than having a filling. The severe pain people associate with root canals is generally the infection beforehand, which the treatment relieves.
Is it normal for teeth to be sensitive to cold?
Mild, brief sensitivity is common and often relates to exposed root surfaces or worn enamel. Sensitivity that lingers after the cold is removed is more significant and worth having examined, as it can indicate the nerve is involved.

Dr. Navid and Cande were so efficient and kind. I highly recommend them to anyone needing root canal. Edit: was overcharged $ 184 when my copay was supposed to be $67 and they said I have to wait 6 to 9 weeks for my money back so updating my review

It’s hard to believe a root canal could be a positive experience but this one was! Dr. Navid and his assistant were so kind and caring, talking me through the entire procedure. It was relatively complex, involving a severe infection and three nerves in a large molar, but I was in the chair only an hour and left pain free. If you are in need of a root canal or other endodontic work, I highly recommend North Dallas Endodontics and Dr. Navid.

Dr. Navid saw me same-day for a failed root canal with a massive infection (facial swelling and all) and performed an immediate re-root canal procedure and drained all of the infection. He was even able to save my existing crown! I cannot recommend this doctor as well as the entire staff and practice for being as supportive and caring as they were. He was also able to find another failed root canal that I’m getting redone next week. If you ever need a root canal or any other major dental work… skip the regular office and head straight to North Dallas Endodontics. They are thorough with explanations of procedures, costs, and post-op instructions. They truly are the best! Thank you again Dr. Navid and staff!!! I feel back to normal!!

I have the absolute worse fear of dentists on a normal basis but it was even worst coming to Dr. Navid because I had just had a dentist try twice to complete a root canal (3.5 hours the first time and over 2 hours the second time) that they couldn’t get do, a total of nearly 6 hours of them poking around in my teeth while I felt everything. As soon as I sat in Dr. Navids chair I started freaking out and crying like a crazy person, he was so calm and patient with me and reassured me if I felt any pain he’d stop immediately and we’d figure out a different plan for treatment. He walked me through everything he was doing as he did it and continued to make sure I was ok throughout the whole process. He was done in about 40 minutes and I swear I felt no pain at all. I’d highly recommend this dentist for sure and also his assistants and the front desk staff were amazing too!!!!

I was referred to North Dallas Endodontics by my regular dentist to get a root canal. They were extremely considerate about me being comfortable and as pain free as possible They took time to explain everything before, during, and after they did things. All went very well and I was very pleased with the outcome. They seem to genuinely care about your comfort and the quality of their work.

I had an amazing experience getting my root canal done with Dr. Navid Khalighinejad and his assistant Cande. The entire procedure was smooth, quick, and completely painless. Dr. Khalighinejad was very professional, gentle, and explained everything clearly, which made the whole process comfortable from start to finish. Cande was also incredibly kind and attentive throughout the visit. The procedure was much faster and easier than I expected. I truly appreciate the care and professionalism from both of them and highly recommend this office to anyone needing dental work! 10/10

So we had to drive 3 hours to see Dr. Navid because nobody in our town took our insurance. We called a day before and they got us in the very next day! My son was in so much pain and we are so thankful they could see us so quickly without any B.S. or anything. I want to thank the "hygienist" I'm unsure if that's her role but she was so sweet towards my son. My son is 16 and my only child so he will forever be my little boy. Whenever the Dr. was numbing my sons mouth the lady was patting my sons shoulder, she was comforting him but also creating a distraction by tapping so he wouldn't focus on the needle. I noticed and I appreciate you! I also am so appreciative of Dr. Navish because he spoke to my son directly and told him everything he was going to do and explained the x-rays to him and then asked him if he had any questions. My son said no, then we asked questions. I appreciate how he spoke to him and not to us only. You just don't get that all the time from places. The root canal was super fast and my son had absolutely no pain from the procedure. Even a couple days later he still hasn't had any pain. Thank y'all for the best dental care! I highly recommend this place. Forgot to mention- the ladies at the front were super helpful and kind. I absolutely loved the waiting area because there was tables provided which was convenient for me because I had school work to do.
