About Park Dentistry

Park Dentistry is a dental practice on 8th Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. Sedation dentistry uses inhaled, oral, or intravenous options to help patients relax through treatment, ranging from nitrous oxide for mild anxiety through to deeper sedation for longer or more involved procedures. It is commonly used for patients who have avoided the dentist for years due to fear.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Park Dentistry located in Brooklyn?
Park Dentistry is on 8th Avenue in Brooklyn, New York (11217).
What days is Park Dentistry open?
Park Dentistry is open Monday through Thursday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Park Dentistry offer?
Listed services at Park Dentistry include Sedation Dentistry. The full list is shown on this page.
What sedation options are available at the dentist?
Commonly inhaled sedation, oral sedatives taken beforehand, and intravenous sedation for more involved cases. They differ in depth and in how long the effects last, so what is offered depends on the treatment and the practice.
Will I be unconscious under dental sedation?
Usually not. Most dental sedation leaves you conscious but deeply relaxed, often with little memory of the procedure afterward. General anaesthesia, where you are fully unconscious, is reserved for specific circumstances.
Why do dentists take X-rays?
Decay between teeth and problems below the gumline are invisible to the naked eye, so X-rays are what reveal them. Modern digital images use a low dose and are taken only when clinically justified.

I’ve lived in NYC for six years, and Dr. Sophia Milito is hands down the best dentist I’ve ever had. She is incredibly detail-oriented, thorough, and knowledgeable, and it’s clear how much she genuinely cares about her patients. Every visit, she takes the time to explain everything, answer my questions, and make sure I feel comfortable. The entire team is so kind, welcoming, and professional. They always make me feel at ease, and the level of patient care I’ve received here is truly unmatched. I also really appreciate that they don’t just treat my dental concerns, they provide thoughtful tips and personalized recommendations that have genuinely improved my dental health in both the short and long term. Can’t recommend Dr. Milito and her team highly enough. Thank you for always going above and beyond!

The front desk staff are fantastic but Park Dentistry was overly pushy with airway/sleep consultation work. They made it nearly impossible to get my records for an insurance claim and it feels like they are just looking to make as much money off of you as possible. Look elsewhere and avoid the administrative headache

I really wanted to like this place since it’s so convenient, but sadly I don’t find them trustworthy. The front desk staff was really welcoming and the dental assistant was kind and knowledgeable, but my experience with the dentist completely overshadowed that. During my cleaning, the dentist repeatedly tried to upsell me on an expensive mouth guard, bringing it up more than five times even after I clearly said I needed time to think about it. This made me really uncomfortable around her and top of that, I was told at check-in that fluoride would cost extra if I opted for it, but after my cleaning, the dentist said, “I’m doing fluoride,” in a way that didn’t give me a choice. When I declined and said I’d skip it, she responded with “Are you serious?” and rolled her eyes at me. I ultimately didn’t feel treated like a patient here, more like a source of cash

I'm so happy with Park Dentistry. They were so nice and so supportive. They took their time to explain everything to me. I had been missing two front teeth and I was so embarrassed. Yesterday they put in two temporaries and my teeth have never looked so good!! I kept putting off going to the dentist but I'm so glad I found Park Dentistry and Dr. Milito. I highly recommend them!

Dr. Chang and his team are the best! So so nice, knowledgeable and they take great care of their patients. My mom and I are both patients of Dr. Chang. She had a fear of going to the dentist but she was put at immediate ease when she met with him and the wonderful Park Dentistry team.

I’ve been coming to Park Dentistry for years and everyone is exceptionally kind. They take their time to explain any financial questions and are very transparent. Dr. Chang is always super friendly and calming, and takes the time to explain procedures or answer any questions. His assistant Estra is also great and very helpful. They were able to fit me in for a last minute dental issue the same week and they were super quick and efficient.

I had just moved to the city and was recommended to Park Dentistry by a friend. I had previously gone to another dentist here who was not great, so I was a little nervous. Luckily for me, I hit the dentist jackpot! I could not be more happy with them. On my first phone call they were able to slot me in very quickly when my tooth chipped. The staff is absolutely incredible - every single person is so kind, welcoming and friendly! I have been seeing Dr Andrew Chang for a year now, and I truly look forward to every visit. He is personable, meticulous, and answers any questions I have. He listened to some jaw issues I’ve been having and did a full check up on me, with a detailed plan of action on how to fix it so I no longer have discomfort. No dentist has ever addressed this problem of mine before, it was quite uplifting to finally be heard. I have recommended Dr. Chang and Park Dentistry to every friend I have, and would encourage you to check them out as well. Bonus: they play pretty great music in the office! :)
