About Park Lane Periodontal and Dental Implant Group

Park Lane Periodontal and Dental Implant Group operates on Park Lane in the Vickery Meadow area of Dallas, Texas. Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone supporting the teeth, handling more advanced gum disease, related surgical treatment, and — in many practices — dental implant placement, which sits naturally alongside that training.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less. Many do, since implant placement sits naturally alongside their training in the gum and bone that support teeth. Whether a specific practice offers it is worth confirming directly.
Can a periodontist save a loose tooth?
Sometimes. If the looseness comes from bone loss around the tooth, deep cleaning and periodontal treatment can stabilise it, though the outcome depends on how much support has already been lost.
How can I look after my teeth between appointments?
Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and cleaning between the teeth daily covers most of it. Limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount consumed.

Thank you very much, Mr. Andrew Barnett, for the dedication and care I received from you and your excellent team of specialists. The extraction and new implant went very well and it was a lot easier than I had anticipated. Everyone was so friendly and enjoyable to talk to. Of course all of this starts at the top with your leadership. I enjoyed having you and your team taking care of me. Thanks a bunch!!

The team is amazing. The whole staff, including Dr.Barnett, goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. Well, as comfortable as one can be if oral surgery is possibly in the treatment plan. :) Oh, and the new location is nothing short of fabulous!

Great job teeth cleaning by hygienist and pleasant. Dr Barnett did an excellent job on a tooth extraction adding bone and plasma a few years ago. I highly recommend them. They are very caring.

Dr Barnett, Andrew is an excellent Peridonist. He is personable and well qualified. I saw him w a loose implant/crown. He examined the problem and took pics and trays for a reasonable solution and fixed it while I was there. His office and staff are very good as well.

I went to be evaluated in September. Surgery was recommended. Dr Barnett’s office personnel said that they would check my insurance and see what insurance would pay for. They never did contact me. When I went back to my regular dentist three months later I told my hygienist what happened. She called Dr Barnett’s office. Dr. Barnett’s office then contacted me and thought I was a new patient and needed an appointment. They had difficulty finding my records. They said they would reach out to my insurance again. The office has not contacted me again. In my opinion, his office is in shambles. Definitely would not recommend.
