Crown Heights cosmetic and general practice
Smyleee Rating
Very Good
Signature Smile General & Cosmetic Dentistry's Crown Heights office sits on Franklin Avenue, in the commercial corridor that's transformed across the last decade into one of the most active stretches in central Brooklyn. The practice handles general dentistry alongside cosmetic services from the same office — routine cleanings, fillings, and restorative work mixed with veneers, whitening, and aesthetic restorative cases under one practice umbrella.
Routine fillings are one of the regular visit types. The team uses tooth-colored composite as the default for most cases, with single-surface and multi-surface restorations, replacement fillings when older work has failed, and the structural call between filling and crown when more tooth material has been lost. Beyond fillings, services span cleanings, root canals, crowns and bridges, extractions, gum-disease screening, and the cosmetic side — porcelain veneers, in-office and tray whitening, and aesthetic crown work. The team will walk through whether a structural-only fix or a cosmetic-grade restoration is the right call for visible teeth, since the decision usually comes down to budget and how much the appearance gap bothers the patient.
If you've been thinking about combining a routine filling with cosmetic improvement on the same tooth, a practice that handles both lets you plan the work as one project rather than two separate visits at different offices.
Patients searching for affordable family dental care in Brooklyn, family dentist in Brooklyn, or general dentist near me in Brooklyn who live in Crown Heights, Prospect Heights, or Bedford-Stuyvesant often choose practices that combine general and cosmetic services for the planning convenience. Signature Smile's Crown Heights office fits that combined model. The new-patient exam covers comprehensive radiographs, periodontal screening, and a full treatment-plan review before any work is scheduled. For Crown Heights and central Brooklyn residents picking a regular dental practice, this Franklin Avenue office is worth a first appointment. If you've had recent medical changes — new medications, recent surgery, ongoing conditions — flagging them at intake matters more than patients usually expect, since several common drugs interact with routine dental work.
Signature Smile General & Cosmetic Dentistry's Crown Heights office offers general and cosmetic care — cleanings, fillings, crowns, and aesthetic services from a Franklin Avenue practice.

I’ve had 2 visits so far and I must say thank you to Dr. Nikita. He really is a great dentist and takes pride in his work. The front desk staff was polite and great to talk to. Eva was amazing. From assisting with scheduling my appointments to managing any concerns I had, she went above and beyond. I look forward to continuing my dental care here.
The customer service is so good at Signature Smile. I really felt that they cared for me as a person, and not just as another account to be billed. Eva was AMAZING; professional, kind, truly cared about my well-being. The office is immaculate and clean and the staff is very friendly.
I truly cannot say enough good things about this dental office. From the moment you walk in, you can feel how much the entire team genuinely cares. The staff is incredibly thoughtful, kind, and patient, and they make sure you feel comfortable and heard every step of the way. What really sets this place apart is that they don’t treat you like just another appointment or prioritize business over people. They are refreshingly honest, transparent, and truly focused on what’s best for you and your long-term dental health. They take the time to explain everything, answer all your questions, and make sure you’re actually happy and confident with your teeth—not rushed or pressured into anything. I’ve been to many dentists throughout my life, and this office is genuinely one of a kind. The level of care, patience, and attention here is unmatched. I honestly wouldn’t go anywhere else. If your insurance covers this practice, do yourself a favor and make them your primary dentist. You’ll feel the difference immediately.
I’m very disappointed with my experience at this practice and would not return or recommend it. I went in for a routine cleaning and left having paid $699 for a one-year membership plan, which I later requested to be refunded due to serious concerns about the care I received. During my visit, Dr. Trogan told me I had three cavities that needed to be filled. When I asked follow-up questions, it became unclear whether all three actually required treatment. I subsequently sought two additional professional opinions, both of which confirmed that I only have one cavity that needs a filling. I was also very strongly pushed toward Invisalign, with it presented as necessary for my dental health. I was encouraged to sign up and pay for an Invisalign plan before leaving the appointment. Both additional dentists I consulted disagreed with this recommendation. Before even examining my mouth, the hygienist recommended a deep cleaning based solely on x-rays showing gum recession. This of course was a significant upcharge. Both additional dentists I consulted disagreed with this recommendation – stating that gum recession has absolutely nothing to do with gum recession, and I do not present any of the prerequisites for a deep cleaning. The cleaning itself was brief and, quite frankly, the most painful cleaning I’ve ever received. The hygienist spent about ten minutes painfully prodding my teeth, did not floss at all, and the appointment was far shorter than any standard cleaning I’ve had elsewhere. She was also about to apply fluoride without first disclosing that it would be an additional charge. After emailing the practice to request a refund for the membership (since I do not plan to return and do not feel I received appropriate care), I was offered a full refund only if I signed a non-disparagement agreement. I declined to sign such an agreement, which would have legally prevented me from leaving any reviews or speaking about my experience, and ultimately received only a partial refund. Overall, the experience felt rushed, overly aggressive in treatment recommendations, and more focused on upselling than patient care.
I had a wonderful experience with Eva regarding payment for my son's dental treatment. She was amazingly gentle, helpful, professional, and kind. Eva took the time to answer all of my questions clearly and thoroughly.
