About Simply Smiles Dental🦷

Based on Knickerbocker Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, Simply Smiles Dental🦷 is a dental practice serving the area. A mouth guard protects the teeth during sport or, in a night guard form, from the effects of grinding during sleep. A custom-fitted guard, made from a mould of your own teeth, stays in place and protects considerably better than a generic store-bought version.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Simply Smiles Dental🦷 located in Brooklyn?

What days is Simply Smiles Dental🦷 open?
Simply Smiles Dental🦷 is open Monday through Saturday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Simply Smiles Dental🦷 offer?
Listed services at Simply Smiles Dental🦷 include Mouth Guard. The full list is shown on this page.
Do I need a custom mouth guard or is a store-bought one fine?
A store-bought guard is better than nothing for occasional sports use, but a custom-fitted one made from a mould of your teeth stays in place better and protects more effectively for regular sport or nightly grinding.
What is the difference between a mouth guard and a night guard?
A sports mouth guard protects against impact during activity. A night guard is worn while sleeping to prevent damage from teeth grinding and clenching. They are shaped and used differently even though both cover the teeth.
How often should I have a dental check-up?
Every six months suits most people. If you have gum disease or a history of decay a dentist may suggest coming more often. The point of regular visits is mostly to catch problems while they are still small and cheap to treat.

Fillings done here constantly have gaps between teeth. Also, after a recent visit I started to experience new gaps between my teeth that were not there before. I would not recommend going here for dental work.

I love this dental office. I see Dr Anwar but have seen other dentists as well. Everyone in the office from the dentists to the assistants and office staff is amazing.

I really want to feel better about this place because it’s in the neighborhood but I want to leave this review to lay out the experience and facts for folks who are considering and choosing local providers. I walked in hoping to do a simple front tooth bonding (tiny chip) and upon the chat with the receptionist, it’s under $200 which is inline with what my regular dentist office (in the city) would charge, so I made my appointment. I don’t really mind the $100 consultation fee that they stated upfront that may contribute to the work itself. However, the quote came out to be $360 for the bonding, $1,600 for veneer option. Both are doubling what my regular dentist charges, so I ended up sinking the $100 consultation fee and did not get any work done at simply similes. Dr Yang was good and knowledgeable, I like her bed manner. However the dentist assistants were horrible. One demanded that I take x-rays before I see the doctor even though I stated my preference to have a chat with both the doctor first. Then, the other dental assistant, clearly inexperienced, had to take my front tooth x-ray THREE times to get one right!! Unacceptable - this is when you know that you should go somewhere else FYI, there was another quote they provided to do a molar flipper for $1,100 - I was able to get the same work quoted for $600 somewhere else. So, be your own judge, but I would never go back to this place.

One of the absolute best dentist I’ve been to. From the receptionists at the front desk to the actual procedure it was truly a great experience. EV was very hygienic with the tools she was using. The Dr was careful and precise to make sure I was comfortable given that my teeth can be sensitive. Thank you guys again!!!

I had an amazing experience! Dental hygienist Elliot was so great and helped calm my nerves, talked to me about some ways I can improve my hygiene health, and made me feel super comfortable and even laugh.. Also, Dr. Yuriy was amazing as well, talked to me about my teeth and helped me know what my next steps are. This place genuinely cares about your teeth health! All of the staff were amazing!
