About Smile Savers Dentistry

Smile Savers Dentistry is a general and family dental practice built around a simple idea: most people don't want to think about their teeth until something's wrong, and when that happens, they want a straightforward answer, not a sales pitch. The practice sees children, teenagers, and adults, so a single household can consolidate cleanings, fillings, and cosmetic questions under one roof instead of juggling separate providers. Patients who come in for a routine checkup and end up needing something more involved -- a crown, a root canal -- don't get referred out; the same team handles both.

Day-to-day care covers cleanings, fillings for tooth decay, and gum disease treatment when your checkup finds inflammation or bone loss. When a tooth is too damaged for a filling, options include crowns (a cap that rebuilds a tooth's visible surface), bridges (a fixed replacement anchored to neighboring teeth), or an extraction when nothing can be saved. Root canal treatment addresses infection inside a tooth so it can be kept rather than pulled, and teeth whitening covers the cosmetic side for a brighter smile without a bigger procedure. Same-day emergency slots are held open for a broken tooth or a toothache that can't wait for a scheduled appointment.

If you've been putting off a toothache because you're not sure whether it needs a filling, a crown, or something more, this is a place where that decision gets made in the same visit instead of a separate referral.

Cost depends on what your case needs -- a cleaning and a filling is a different conversation than a crown, a bridge, or a root canal, and only an exam settles which applies. Smile Savers Dentistry doesn't publish a flat price list because a treatment plan for a cracked molar looks nothing like one for a routine cavity. What it offers is continuity: a family that starts with cleanings for the kids can end up bringing an adult back for a crown or an emergency toothache without switching offices. For anyone in Columbia sitting on an unaddressed dental problem, that continuity can matter more than chasing a single procedure in isolation.

Smile Savers Dentistry in Columbia, Maryland offers general and family dental care -- cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, and emergency visits -- for patients who want routine and urgent dental needs handled under one roof.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Smile Savers Dentistry located in Columbia?

What services does Smile Savers Dentistry offer?

How can I help my child feel less nervous about the dentist?
Keeping the language neutral helps — avoid words like pain or needle, even reassuringly — as does booking a simple, quick first visit so the experience is uneventful. Familiarity does more than persuasion for most anxious children.
At what age should a child first see a dentist?
Guidance generally points to the first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth appearing. Early visits are mostly about getting a child comfortable in the chair and catching problems while they are still small, rather than about treatment.
Can a filling fall out?
Yes, and it is reasonably common, usually from decay developing underneath, from chewing something hard, or simply from age. A lost filling leaves the tooth exposed, so it should be looked at before the cavity gets deeper.

I am very pleased with the services I have received from Dr. Stewart and his entire staff. My smile went from terrible to awesome. You have to know I don't express my satisfaction unless I'm pleased and I am pleased with the way my smile looks! Thanks Smile Savers!!!

Dr A was wonderful with fixing my previously chipped bonding (which has been the bane of my existence for years). She provided quality work at a fair price and offered suggestions to prevent the issue in the future. Highly recommend this dentist for bonding!

I had a wonderful experience. I felt comfortable with the Dentist. She gave me options that I never thought about considering. She did not rush me but patiently listened to all my concerns. The staff was very nice. I truly enjoyed my visit.

I've been going to Smile Savers Dentistry for a few years now. They are friendly, considerate and thoughtful in regards to your dental care. Today was my bi-annual check-up and cleaning. The dental hygienist was gentle but quite thorough, mentioning any observations like discoloration on my teeth and what she was doing to help the issue. All the dentist are kind and technically very good and efficient. I give them 5 stars for the dental care; however, you should know that you have to pay for services up front and be reimbursed by your insurance. This is ok for me since my dental insurance is awful but it is more convenient to have the dental office get the money from the insurance and you pay the remainder. Great dentistry, gentle, kind and considerate. Pricing and insurance vs personal payment room for improvement.

Found a promotion of this nice dental office Smile Savers Dentistry 🦷 on a social media platform this month . Even though I’ve just had the initial free no fee consultation (which surprisingly includes a thorough oral examination & includes X-rays & Scanning). The team from start to finish were knowledgeable..professional ..plus they each put forth effort to alleviate “ new patient” anxiety ..plus the Dentist -Dr Patel listened to challenges of previous dental health & discussed possible plans to resolve current issues .I appreciate that they seem sensitive to my needs .The office has updated equipment..is clean & aesthetically appealing .The office also has its own financing alternatives department that may assist in getting my much needed treatment sooner than later . Also has convenient free parking :) Am looking forward to building a fresh dental treatment relationship with this team !

My wife has been coming here for several months now, and she loves it. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The doctors, hygienist, and techs are good at their jobs and good about being honest with what they can and can't do. And the financial staff are good at working with you for finding assistance if there is extensive work needed. Highly recommend their office.
