Williamsburg modern membership-style practice
Smyleee Rating
Very Good
Tend Dental Williamsburg sits on North 7th Street in Williamsburg, in the dense waterfront-adjacent corridor that's become one of Brooklyn's most active commercial stretches. The practice operates on a modern membership-style format — different from a traditional insurance-driven office, with the experience designed around the visual and operational expectations of a younger, tech-comfortable patient base. The day-to-day work is still general dentistry; the difference is in how the visit is structured around the patient.
Routine fillings cover a regular share of the schedule. The team uses tooth-colored composite as the default material, handling single-surface and multi-surface restorations, replacement fillings when older work has failed, and the call between filling and crown when more tooth structure has been lost. Beyond fillings, services include cleanings and exams, root canals, crowns and bridges, extractions, gum-disease screening, teeth whitening, and emergency dental care. The format includes digital scanning rather than physical impressions for crowns, intraoral cameras shown on patient-facing screens, and online booking that fits a working professional's calendar.
If you've been postponing dental visits because the experience at older practices felt clunky and slow, a modern format like this one tends to remove most of the booking and intake friction without changing the underlying clinical work.
Patients searching for general dentist near me in Brooklyn, family dentist in Brooklyn, or general dentistry in Brooklyn, NY who live in Williamsburg, Greenpoint, or Bushwick often choose modern-format practices for the operational fit with their working schedules. Tend's Williamsburg office fits that pattern. The new-patient exam combines comprehensive digital radiographs, periodontal screening, and a treatment-plan review before any restorative work is scheduled. For Williamsburg and adjacent-neighborhood residents picking a regular dental practice with a smoother visit experience, this North 7th Street office is a reasonable first appointment. If you're switching from a chain practice and you've never had a long-term solo or small-group dentist before, the visit pace tends to feel different — slower, more conversational, and often more thorough than the timed-slot model.
Tend Dental Williamsburg runs a modern North 7th Street practice with a membership-style format — general dentistry covering cleanings, fillings, crowns, and routine restorative care.

General dentistry at Tend Dental Williamsburg covers routine exams, cleanings, fillings, and decay prevention — the everyday care that keeps a Williamsburg smile healthy.
Professional dental cleanings remove the plaque and tartar that brushing misses, protecting the gums and helping the dentist catch early decay.
Crowns and bridges repair and replace damaged or missing teeth — a crown caps a weakened tooth, while a bridge spans the gap left by lost teeth.
Root canal treatment removes infected tissue from inside a tooth, relieving pain and saving a tooth that might otherwise need extraction.
Emergency dental care addresses urgent problems such as a severe toothache, a broken tooth, or a lost filling, with prompt attention to relieve pain.

Had amazing two visits lately! One was a regular cleaning. The hygienist was very professional and thorough, yet efficient. It was 10/10 service. My second visit was an emergency appointment with vineer. I was able to book the spot the next day which can be challenging in other places. Again, the service I received was excellent. Everyone I met with were personable and made you feel welcome and looked after. The receptionist is great, too! What I love is they give you the exact amount you will pay based on your insurance. No surprises. Highly recommend trying Tend out.
If you need a dentist who truly cares about your comfort and wellbeing, I strongly suggest going anywhere else. I chose Tend because they talk so much about comfort, patient care, and creating a pain-free experience. That’s the opposite of what I experienced. I went in for a first visit, mainly to get a cleaning. I asked — more than once — to be numbed before the cleaning. I explained clearly that this procedure hurts for me. I’ve had it done before and I know my own body. Instead of listening, I was told it wouldn’t hurt and that I didn’t need lidocaine because it “works for other patients.” I am not “other patients”. And I was asking for something simple that would have made the experience manageable for me. The procedure was painful. I left feeling anxious in a way I haven’t in years. No one should leave a dentist more afraid — and in more pain — than when they walked in. I also left untreated. The cleaning itself lasted less than 10 minutes with the ultrasonic tool before I was told it would probably hurt too much to continue that way (ironically, at this point they seem to have changed their mind and implicitly admitted it does hurt). Instead of offering anesthetic so the job could actually be done properly, the ultrasonic scaling was stopped early and replaced by a very brief manual scrape on just a few teeth. That was it. My teeth are not clean. I can still feel the buildup. I can see it in the mirror. After going to Tend, I now need to go to a dentist to actually get my teeth cleaned. Make that make sense. Tend, if a patient says, “This hurts for me. I want anesthetic,” believe them.
I had the most wonderful and comfortable experience with the hygienist, Jeremiah. He made me feel so at ease. He took my X-rays and my cleaning was amazing. Never before have I had such a comfortable cleaning. Jeremiah was great. The dentist I saw was also great. I loved my experience. Thank you so much
From the moment I walked in, the space felt clean, modern, and relaxing — nothing like your typical dental office. The staff was so kind, welcoming, and professional. My hygienist took her time explaining everything she was doing and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire visit. The dentist was thorough, honest, and genuinely cared about my dental health rather than just rushing me out. I also loved that the technology they use is top-tier — digital X-rays, detailed scans, and visuals that helped me actually understand what’s going on with my teeth. It felt like they truly value patient experience and comfort. They even had a box full of goodies on the walk in for Halloween . If you’re looking for a dental office that feels more like a wellness experience than a chore, Tend Williamsburg is the place to go. Highly recommend!
I booked a routine cleaning at Tend and left $250 poorer without getting my teeth cleaned. Here’s how it works: you’re allowed to book a “cleaning” online, but once you’re in the chair they require an exam and X-rays first. Only after those are completed (and billed) do they inform you that, due to “gingivitis,” they won’t perform the cleaning you came for. Instead, you’re handed a follow-up treatment plan for $530 — padded with optional add-ons like per-quadrant gingival irrigation — for a condition that many dentists would handle with a standard cleaning and hygiene guidance. What bothered me most wasn’t the diagnosis; it was the sequencing: • No disclosure during booking that a cleaning might not happen • No option to decline the exam once it became clear • No effort to adapt, extend, or partially complete care • Full charge for intake, zero delivery of the booked service This isn’t patient-centered care — it’s a corporate funnel designed to lock in revenue before consent is fully informed. The doctor was polite, but the supporting staff and system were rigid and transactional. I don’t appreciate the nurse actively talks over the doctor. If you want autonomy, transparency, or same-day care, go to a solo practice. If you enjoy being upsold after a sunk cost, Tend may be for you. I won’t be returning.
