About The Whole Tooth

The Whole Tooth operates on South Buckner Boulevard in the Riverway Estates/Bruton Terrace area of Dallas, Texas. Holistic, or biological, dentistry applies standard dental diagnosis and treatment within an approach that emphasises material choice and conservative treatment, considering oral health as connected to the body more broadly rather than treating the mouth in isolation.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not. You can reach The Whole Tooth through this page to ask a question, check current availability, or request an appointment.

What is holistic dentistry?
It is an approach that considers oral health in the context of overall health and tends to emphasise material choices and conservative treatment. The underlying clinical standards for diagnosing and treating dental disease remain the same.
What is the difference between holistic and cosmetic dentistry?
They overlap but are not the same thing. Cosmetic dentistry is about appearance specifically, while holistic dentistry is a broader philosophy about material choice and treating the mouth as connected to overall health, which can apply to any treatment including cosmetic work.
What causes bad breath and can a dentist help?
Persistent bad breath most often comes from bacteria on the tongue and around the gumline, and gum disease is a frequent underlying cause. Because it is usually oral in origin, a dental examination is a sensible first step.

The most comprehensive oral care in Dallas! I actually look forward to going to dentist appointments now because of the calming ambience, nontoxic products, and friendly staff. Would give 6 stars if it were possible!

Did you know that going to the dentist can actually relax and reset your day, week? Dr. Preeya, Gina, and Sonny are an amazing team. While getting my teeth cleaned I am given frequency music headphones with sounds to relax and rescue my mind for my semi annual visit to the dentist chair that also has a massage pad. After my cleaning I chat with Dr Preeya to get some much needed advice on some potential orthodontics and she opens the door to better functional possibilities for the treatment I might be needing. After all is complete with visit, I am offered a facial red light therapy session which I happily obliged. My teeth, my mind, and my health are all so thankful for the care and service that comes with each lovely visit. I can’t recommend this team enough.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about The Whole Tooth and the entire team there. From the moment I walked in, I felt truly cared for. Dr. Genz has been incredibly patient with me, taking the time to listen, understand my concerns, and work with me to get to the root of the issues I’ve been struggling with for years. Before coming here, I’d been dismissed by other dentists and even told I was “over-focusing” on my mouth when trying to understand my health challenges. At The Whole Tooth, I finally felt heard. Instead of brushing off my concerns, they looked at my whole body, my whole health, and how everything connects. That holistic approach has made all the difference. I love that use ozone also! I’m so grateful for their compassion, their expertise, and the genuine support they’ve shown me. This office is truly something special. Highly, highly recommend.

I absolutely LOVE The Whole Tooth! Dr. Genz, Gina, and the team provide incredible holistic dental care that is truly personalized and focused on overall wellness. From the moment you walk in, the calming atmosphere — including aromatherapy, soothing music, red light therapy, and a sauna — makes you feel cared for. They focus on you as a whole person, not just your teeth, taking the time to understand your goals, health, and concerns before creating a thoughtful care plan. It truly is a dentist experience unlike any other I’ve ever had, and I couldn’t recommend them enough!

The team that Dr. Genz has thoughtfully established at The Whole Tooth is reflective of her passion and commitment to Whole Body care. From the moment you walk in and are greeted by Sonny (the Patient Care Coordinator) you feel like you are arriving to a friends home. The environment is sooting and calm. You can sip on tea or water while waiting To be seen. If you are there for a hygiene appointment you will be able to enjoy being in the presence of Gina while she expertly cleans your teeth while somehow making you feel like your an enjoying a chat with a friend. Dr. Genz is thoughtful and deeply informed about dental health and how our the ecosystem of our bodies directly relates to the health of our mouth. Do not hesitate to book an appointment with the team at The Whole Tooth.. It’s worth it!

What a wonderful experience! Everyone has been welcoming from the very beginning. Other dentist quoted me 20k-30k to complete all the work in my mouth plus orthodontics. I believe this was the perfect spot for me considering the cost was more than Half and they took way better care of me. I personally love the fact that their number one priority is health in my mouth and my body. Plus the methods that are used are not harmful and longer lasting than your typical dentist office. Dr. Genz goes above and beyond to make sure all the details are taken care of and not to mention that I was happy with everything before we would move forward. I have always wanted a holistic dentist but didn’t think that it existed until I came across The Whole Tooth. Bye bye fluoride HELLO ozone!! 💗 Even during my cleanings I get to see how much yucky bacteria activity is going on in my mouth so I know how much more attention I need to put into my teeth and health. So thankful I found this office even though I drive an hour and a half, every visit is worth it!
