About Dental Oral Surgery - Brooklyn

Dental Oral Surgery - Brooklyn operates on Hanson Place in Brooklyn, New York. Wisdom teeth are removed when they are impacted, repeatedly infected, decayed, or damaging the tooth in front, since they arrive last and often into a jaw with no room left. Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out — one that erupts cleanly and can be kept clean is often left alone.

Oral surgery covers procedures beyond routine treatment — surgical extractions including impacted wisdom teeth, implant placement, and bone grafting among the more common ones. The distinguishing feature is generally that tissue is opened and closed as part of the procedure, rather than treated at the surface.

TMJ treatment addresses pain, clicking, or restricted movement in the jaw joint, often linked to teeth grinding, clenching, injury, or stress. A custom night guard is the most common starting point, reducing strain on the joint and surrounding muscles.

Dentoalveolar surgery covers procedures involving the teeth and the bone that supports them — impacted tooth removal and surgical extractions among the more common examples — as distinct from surgery elsewhere in the jaw or face.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. What days is Dental Oral Surgery - Brooklyn open?
Dental Oral Surgery - Brooklyn is open Monday through Friday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Dental Oral Surgery - Brooklyn offer?
Listed services at Dental Oral Surgery - Brooklyn include Wisdom Teeth Removal, Oral Surgery, TMJ/TMD Treatment and Dentoalveolar Surgery. The full list is shown on this page.
What age is best to have wisdom teeth taken out?
Late teens to early twenties is often easier, because the roots are less fully formed and bone is more forgiving, so healing tends to be quicker. Removal is still routinely done later when there is a reason for it.
What is a surgical extraction and how is it different from a normal one?
A surgical extraction is used when a tooth cannot simply be lifted out — commonly because it is impacted, broken at the gumline, or has curved roots — and involves opening the gum or removing bone to access it.
Is oral surgery painful afterward?
Some soreness and swelling in the days after is normal and expected, managed with pain relief and, where needed, a short course of medication. Severe or worsening pain after the first few days is not typical and should be checked.

Huge office inside but not a big front office. Great services provided in this location. Office is clean and equipped with necessary new advanced equipment for the procedures. Staff/ Doctor is friendly/ professional and easy to talk to. Wait time is fair as I was seen about 35 mins after I scheduled my appointment but overall very professional.
