About New York Family Dentistry
New York Family Dentistry sits on Avenue L in the Canarsie part of southeast Brooklyn, between Flatbush and the Mill Basin waterfront. The practice serves the surrounding residential blocks with general dentistry — adults, kids, and the older patients who've lived in the neighborhood for decades and want the kind of dentist who can keep their entire dental history on one chart rather than spread across three referral specialists.
Filling work covers the routine general-dentistry range. The team handles tooth-colored composite restorations, replacement fillings when an old one has cracked, and the larger restorations on back molars where the bite forces argue for either a bigger filling or a step up to a crown depending on tooth structure. Beyond fillings, services include cleanings, root canals, crowns and bridges, basic extractions, gum-disease treatment, and the kind of routine emergency visits a regular practice handles in-house. They'll discuss material choice per tooth — composite for cosmetic visibility, sometimes amalgam for high-load molars in patients who prefer durability.
If you've moved to Canarsie or Mill Basin and you're choosing a new general dentist within driving distance of home, a routine new-patient exam here is a low-pressure way to test the practice fit.
Patients searching for dentist accepting new patients in Brooklyn, NY, family dentist in Brooklyn, or routine dental care in Brooklyn tend to want a regular practice rather than emergency-only visits. New York Family Dentistry is set up for that ongoing pattern. Insurance acceptance varies plan to plan, so a phone call before booking confirms the new-patient exam is in-network — saves the awkward billing conversation at check-in. For Canarsie, Mill Basin, and Bergen Beach residents picking a regular general dentist, this Avenue L practice is a sensible starting point. Insurance acceptance, hours, and current new-patient availability shift across the year, so a phone call before booking is the most reliable way to confirm what's in-network and which slots open up this week.

Services Offered
Dental Cleaning
Professional dental cleanings remove the plaque and tartar that brushing misses, protecting the gums and giving the dentist a clear chance to spot early decay.
Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment removes infected tissue from inside a tooth, relieving pain and saving a tooth that might otherwise need extraction.
Emergency Dentistry
Emergency dental care addresses urgent problems such as a severe toothache, a broken or knocked-out tooth, and lost fillings, with prompt treatment to relieve pain.
General Dentistry
General dentistry at New York Family Dentistry covers routine exams, cleanings, fillings, and decay prevention — the everyday care that keeps a Canarsie smile healthy.
Crowns & Bridges
Crowns and bridges repair and replace damaged or missing teeth — a crown caps a weakened tooth, while a bridge fills the gap left by one or more lost teeth.

the worst dentist i have went through i go to the dentist just for my wises and brackets to slide right of next hour I RECOMMEND U DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST also they were just filed for a law suit for overcharging customers
This dental clinic is really neat. Always clean . The staff is always friendly even the receptionists. And I hardly have to wait too long and also never feel rushed. Definitely recommend
This office says online that it’s open at 10 AM and it’s open at 12 when I call the call center. This is unacceptable and a waste of peoples time.
WORSE PLACE EVER DO NOT GO HERE. I did my Invisalign treatments here. The dentist comes in she never looks in your mouth to see your improvement she just tells u ok come Back in 4 weeks she never talk you through the process. Every time I’ll have to go back in because an attachment will fall Off or a button comes out. Only time it will ever stay on is if the dental hygienist Cos puts it on. I’m almost to the end and the space in my teeth is not fully close and they are ready to give me retainers. I called for 3 weeks to let them know that the space is still there no one called back. I went into office and had to beg to see the dentist and all she’s trying to offer me to Do Another cosmetic procedure instead of giving me one more set of Invisalign. I am so upset that I ever did my Invisalign there. Now I’m stuck having to find a new place to continue or to start over . The only good about this place is Cos the dental hygienist and Sonia front desk staff. Every other thing about this location sucks! DO NOT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Also you can never get through to the office the call Center can never answer your question and will tell you they can’t connect you to the office and the office will tell you that they can! On multiple occasions Alll Around horrible business.
I like the facility because it’s clean, the staff is courteous, and I’m usually in and out when scheduling is done correctly. I have been going here for the past three years. I had my Invisalign work here and now I take my children (2yrs,6yrs,10yrs old) to get their annual cleaning and soon braces. All the dentist are friendly and willing to answer any questions. I’ve had my little issues with the staffing especially the front desk with scheduling but overall I would and have recommended this facility.
Back in the day, I would have given this office 5 stars hands down. But now that the former manager is not running the front desk, the place has gone downhill. The young lady who sits closest to the door is always nice and as helpful as can be even when faced with inconsiderate people. The 2 assistants that have been there for as long as I can remember are still absolutely amazing. Lastly, the main doctor there got me through my 2 implants with 0 amount of trauma. But until some staff changes are made, I will not be returning.
I had an amazing experience at New York Family Dentistry. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, making me feel at ease right from the moment I walked in. The dental hygienist Mike did a fantastic job cleaning my teeth—my mouth feels fresh and spotless.
